Hello. Thanks for looking me up.
I’m Brandon Pfeiffer. I write/perform mostly original songs, mostly acoustic/singer-songwriter, and mostly in the Midwest.
I’m assuming you already know that much.

Looking for music?
- Bandcamp for tunes
- BandsInTown for shows
- Instagram just to be friends.
I’m based in Chicago USA where…
- Locally, I play serious songs at my friends’ comedy shows.
- Regionally, I front a Tom Petty cover band (see below).
- Nationally, I tour with Vote Common Good and Death Penalty Action.
You can find bits of my music scattered online…
- A new song called “Rollin’” (sung by Daniella Smith) that I wrote and co-produced (with Shonny Jones) appeared in the indie film “Else.”
- There’s an old pop record on Apple / Spotify / everywhere and newer stuff on Bandcamp.
- And there are a few random old videos on: Youtube / Facebook / Instagram.
My favorite events are songwriter nights and variety shows. I love doing gigs in living rooms or comedy clubs where we can tell stories and play tunes and discuss important or unimportant things.
After 10 years of hosting weekly songwriters’ showcase and monthly workshops, I’ve learned I really love trading and playing songs with other writers. With the tricks I’ve learned over the years, helping songwriters one-on-one to refine their own songs and develop their own skills has become one of my favorite things.
Twenty years ago, my best friends and I started The Petty Thieves, which has been touted as the “Midwest’s Best-named Tom Petty cover band!” We still regularly play regionally, and rehearse even less. When the band’s unavailable, I’ve even hosted raucous Tom Petty sing-alongs in living rooms in Minnesota, California, Colorado and the Carolinas.
Send me a message.
Currently, I’m looking for:
- other writers who want to workshop new tunes / trade old unfinished songs for new original material
- a folk voice (think Emmylou or Patty Griffin?) to sing on two demos
- alt-country musicians (and/or Mark Heard fans) for a new tribute/concept band
- anyone who wants to give feedback on my worktapes
